I had thought I was doing enough until I experienced Kanakuk. Kanakuk is a Christian sports camp in Missouri. The 'Kamp' was two weeks long. While being there I found my self digging into the Word of God like I never had in my whole life. It was then I realized that I can never do enough or achieve enough to equal all Jesus did for me on the cross. A day before the 'Kamp' ended, I was convicted of not being fully committed to Jesus Christ. That night I decided to re-commit my life to Christ. Ever since that day my life has been very different.
I feel like God is calling me to help others, and spread His word as much as I can. I have a heart for people in need and people who are not in need, they just need the love of the Lord. Three years ago my mom and I started praying for an opportunity to go on a mission trip.
When the Naomi's Village trip came up we are very excited. The trip was scheduled for September, 2014. Due to safety issues, the trip was postponed. I was really upset that it was cancelled , but I knew that God had a purpose for it.
Looking ahead to this June, I am excited to see how the Lord is going to work through the whole team going to Kenya, and how he will work in the hearts of the people that live there. For this trip I am remembering Mark 16:15, "And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone."" This verse reminds me of what I am doing and why I should be doing it, because that is what Jesus has commanded me to do.
I appreciate all of the support and money you have donated to make this trip possible. Please be praying for everyone involved in this mission trip and the people God is going to touch through us. Thank you so much.
Mckinley Tyler :-)
